On November 25, 2024, West Visayas State University (WVSU) launched its 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) with various activities organized by its Gender and Development (GAD) Office.
The campaign started with a solidarity dance at the College of Medicine Gym, led by students from the College of PESCAR and other groups.ย

WVSU GAD also celebrated International Menโs Day through simultaneous lectures on financial literacy and dental health held at the College of Dentistry building.
Dr. Jeanette J. Simpas, Director of the Gender and Development Office, opened the program and welcomed the participants. Dr. Jeffrey Ballaret from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) presented โSecuring Your Financial Future: A Manโs Roadmap,โ discussing the 50/30/20 Budgeting Rule and the MACHO Framework (Mindset of Wealth, Aligned Goals, Consistent Savings, Healthy Investment, and Optimized Strategies). Dr. Lester Joseph Cardenas, Associate Dean of the College of Dentistry (COD), followed with โBeyond the Smile: How Dental Health Affects Menโs Lives,โ focusing on dental and oral hygiene.
