Self-Defense Training at the University Quezon Hall Facade

The West Visayas State University thru its Gender and Development Office in partnership with the YOUTH for Peers, and DUAG student organization kicks off the 2022 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women (VAW) in a Self-Defense Training at the University Quezon Hall Facade on November 25, 2022.

Republic Act (RA) No. 10398 declares November 25 of every year as the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). The event is in consonance with Proclamation No. 1172 series of 2006 which directs government agencies to raise awareness of the problem of violence and contribute to eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls.

This year marks the start of the new six-year recurring theme for the campaign, ‘UNiTEd for VAW-free Philippines’, that aims to highlight the powerful impact of harnessing and consolidating individual efforts towards the goal of having a VAW-free Philippines. It also supports the United Nations (UN) UNiTE by 2030 to End VAW Campaign.
